MATCH REPORT FOR JARDY'S 19TH AUGUST 2006.
Hi All,
A power cut, one of a few over the last couple of days
meant a late start and no food at Jardy's. Luckily the co-op
above and a fish shop over the road kept us from starving.
Questionnaires put out by the committee regarding a
change of venues & dates for next year showed a return of
45 with 96% approving. A lot of work needs to be done
over the next four months to set this in place. That quiet,
unassuming young man Daz Twist was present even though
he should have been in Bulgaria! A passport sent off a
month earlier by special request failed to materialise.
So if your going on holiday or your passport needs renewing, TAKE NOTE!!!! On the plus side Andy(The Govenor)
McGovern was on holiday, so the ladies didn't get there
ears bent all day and we all had a bit more room. CHECK THE FINALS PAGE on this web site for prize money.
It will be a minimum of 100 pounds even if you go out
1st round, so make sure you attend every comp......... Onto the action-- The blind pairs was won by Scott
(Too Hot) Waites And Peter Jaques in 16/19 darts
over Brandon (Tetley) Walsh and Gary (The Cougar)
Thompson. Watch out for young Brandon, a star
of the future for sure.
In the singles the 1st Semi-Final saw Brendon
(B.J) Marren take out Stewart Ireland in 16/16/17
darts. Stewarts winning leg was an excellent 14 darter.
The second Semi-Final saw James (Odd Job) Barton
beaten three nil by Gary (The Cougar) Thompson in
legs of 24/18/23 darts.
The final was the ususal high standards we have
come to expect but with Gary not quite firing on all
cylinders (Rum and Coke does strange things to
you gary).
Brendon took the honours 4/1 in legs of 23/15/22/16
