Match report for Yeadon liberal club 02/09/2006
78 players turned out at Yeadon lib liberal club – Bob North country. We don't see much of Bob nowadays as he's manager of a bookie's which means weekend working. He's into horses big time is Bob, ownership/breeding etc. Which does not surprise me as from the back he looks a bit like one.
Talking of missing players I phoned Gary Cathcart on Saturday but he was back in hospital. Had an operation earlier in the week which went okay but was not too good Friday and went back in hospital. Hopefully just overnight(fingers crossed). Andy (ladies man ) Mcgovern took our signed get well card up to him which was much appreciated. The nickname ladies man for Andy is not so much that he likes the ladies but he's always getting beat by them.

I will be posing a question concerning darts at the end of each report. The first one to collar me at the next comp with the correct answer gets a pint or in the case of a lady half a lager. Should be okay there as I can't think of any ladies at our comp's. Oops, Rest assured if I am buying the questions will not be easy.
Do not forget the 1st nine darter at Low moor will be worth £425. If there is a match report at Low moor it will be late as I am on holiday.

Pairs finals Paul(the ringer) Bellinger and Brian(stato) Hallas beat yours truly and Kevin(shrek) Ward 2 games to 1 in 25/17 darts. Our winning leg 24. No we were not playing 1001.
Singles 1st s/f – Steve(the Castleford tiger) O,donnell v Brendon(BJ) Marren. Brendon winning quite comfortably in18/24/15 darts
Singles 2nd s/f – Darren(wrinkly socks) Battye v Scott(too hotty) Waites. A much closer contest with Scott just edging out 3/2 in legs of 19/21/18. Darrens winning legs 22/17.
The final – Brendon continued his fine run of form of late overpowering England International Scott 4 games to 1. His winning legs 15/18/16/26. Scotts winning leg 16.
Averages – Brendon 82.99 Scott 86.12.
